The complexity of a system that can process trillions of transactions a day cannot be overstated. In order to pull out the legacy application a full understanding of all of its interfaces and impacts to the Supply Chain had to be identified. Although there were thousands of pages of highly technical documents at hand, no comprehensive end to end picture existed to make visible the impact of removing the application.

Although there were thousands of pages of highly technical documents at hand, no comprehensive end to end picture existed to make visible the impact of removing the application.  Using their Methodology for Vision Achievement (MVA), IT Cadre provided a visualization of the end-to-end Supply Chain Management System. In 60 days, highly qualified systems engineers from IT Cadre dove in and mapped out every system, interface and connection across the enterprise. Once the full picture was complete, the impact of sunsetting the module was clearly seen.

During the spring and summer of 2014, Sonoco ThermoSafe sponsored and managed a 26-question survey aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of the rapidly evolving packaging and logistics markets for the transport of temperature sensitive products over the next 2 to 3 years. The survey was co-developed by an eight-member advisory panel of leading industry experts from pharmaceutical manufacturing, logistics companies, media partners, independent consultants and IQPC event managers.

The survey was distributed at the Philadelphia conference, answered questions about supply chain integrity, increasing FDA regulations, sourcing with global partners, and more. The goal of the survey was to understand where bio-pharmaceutical executives stand on some of the biopharma logistics industry’s biggest issues and establish up-to-date supply chain benchmarks. The roles of those answering this questionnaire ranged from Director of Global Asset and Operations, to Executive Officer, to SVP of Global Supply Chain.
